Xinomavro reveals all the depth and complexity of the Naoussa terroir. An approach that emphasizes concentration and freshness, with typical aromas and flavors, reminiscent of red berries, combined with floral notes and sweet spices from the aging in oak barrels. The lively acidity and refined tannins build the structure of the wine. It is an accessible and pleasant wine in its youth. At the same time, it reveals an extraordinary potential for evolution, year after year, in bottle.

TASTING NOTES

A medium ruby color wine with medium aromatic intensity. Powerful nose of sumptuous red fruits dominated by raspberry, cranberry and red plum; black fruits, mainly blueberry, bramble, blackberry, damson plum, black cherry and black plum; vegetal characteristic of Xinomavro expressed as tomato leaf and tomato paste; spice like licorice. The clarity of the fruit is rooted with carefully managed oak aromas offering vanilla, clove, coconut, coffee and butterscotch flavors. On the palate, the wine is dense and solidly built. Dry, with medium+ acidity, medium body, framed by powerful fine-grained tannins producing a lacy effect against generous red and black fruit extracts and medium alcohol. It has a pronounced intensity of flavors and a long finish. It balances its strong tannic grip and acidity levels against the fruit extract and alcohol integration; it is intense, complex with appealing and expressive aromas. An elegant interpretation of Xinomavro, yet succinct, robust with clear varietal definition, well developed tannins and concentrated fruit to sustain it over the long term. This is a wine for long aging, during which it will develop even more complex aromas due to the aging in bottle.
