BAD NA H-ACHLAISE
BAD NA H-ACHLAISE - BADACHRO DISTILLERY
This premium single malt Scotch whisky beautifully marries the wonder of peated and unpeated spirit, to produce a characterful and finely balanced expression of the rugged and yet romantic Northwest Highlands.
It is the result of having vatted two very carefully selected casks from a Highland distillery, to produce this lightly peated dram, which has been finished in Tuscan red wine casks prior to bottling. Bad na h-Achlaise has developed a wonderfully deep character and slight blush in colour. It’s very Northwest Highlands, in conversation with an old Tuscan friend.
A lot of care is taken to deliver consistency but there are still slight differences between releases, especially as time rolls on and the spirit spends more time maturing in our red wines casks.
NOSE: Peat smoke infused with lemon grass and freshly cut hay. Subsiding to unveil a slight fruity sweetness.
PALATE: Stewed red berries with a peppering of peat on the back of the tongue.
FINISH: A Highland breakfast or warmed oats and pouring cream with pockets of fresh fruits, all enjoyed from an oak spoon.
PERFECT SERVE: Great outdoors with sticky barbecued ribs, at the end of an evening with oatcakes and smoked venison pate or as a wee treat, with Maltesers.
